Fearing Climate Change’s Effects on the Adirondacks – NYTimes.com.

An interesting article from the NY Times on how the warming world is affecting the Adirondacks. Such a rapid change leaves plants and animals there at present with no future. The spread of trees takes a good deal of time and assumes that the barriers to species spread that we impose, like roads and urban areas, do not exist. What will the intermediate vegetation be like and how much poorer?
